2025 Ministries Review
- Caring Ministry
- Community Initiative Ministry
- Family Ministry
- Legal Clinic
- Linkage Counselling
The Caring Ministry began in 2001, founded by a few devoted Christians who saw the needs around them. It started with a support group for individuals with brain injuries, and gradually grew to include cancer support, elder care, and ministries serving families raising kids with special needs. From the very beginning, the Caring Ministry has followed a “Point, Line, and Plane” approach—embracing individuals with disabilities and those in need throughout the community with Christ’s love. The “Point” represents direct, personal care—through visits, companionship, intercession, and phone calls—helping people tangibly feel loved and remembered; the “Line” connects those points through ongoing fellowship, small groups, and gatherings, cultivating relationships that go beyond one-time assistance into a shared journey of mutual support; the “Plane” is the broader network formed when these many lines are woven together—a community of care sustained by the partnership of churches, organizations, and neighbourhood networks, providing holistic support and carrying one another’s burdens. Over the past year, we give thanks for partnerships with community organizations that allowed us to serve seniors, individuals with special needs, and those living with cancer through workshops, group gatherings, and practical resources—bringing both emotional and tangible support.
Highlights of the Year
- Café Music (April 2025): A joyful showcase where kids with special needs expressed their musical talents, sharing the message that every life holds God-given potential.
- Life and Death Education Workshops: Two sessions on “Imagining Faith. Life & Death Education in the Age of Technology and AI.” (May 31 and November 11, 2025) provided a safe and open space for honest conversations about life and death.
- Senior Groups: The Cantonese and Mandarin fellowships—“Let’s Meet Up” and “Happy Gathering” —continued to grow, offering friendship, lectures, and opportunities for seniors to enrich their social lives.
- Special Needs Family Ministry: Our Special Needs Ministry Parents Support Group expanded with more resources and support. The Sunshine Coast Family Camp and Mothers’ Retreat received positive feedback, while youth board-game socials and adaptive karate classes helped foster ongoing friendships and inclusion among participants.
Looking Ahead
- Life and Death Education: Continue offering Life and Death Education seminars to help individuals and families prepare emotionally and spiritually for life’s final stage. We plan to launch grief-support groups and equip staff and volunteers to journey with those experiencing loss. Creative arts—such as music and sand painting—will be used to help participants express emotions and find meaning amid suffering.
- Caregiver Support and Volunteer Training: Equip volunteers to serve others with compassion while maintaining their own emotional health and spiritual growth. We will also strengthen partnerships with local Chinese churches and faith communities to broaden our network of care.
- Practical Community Services: Continue providing free Chinese medicine clinics and tax-filing assistance for seniors and those in need. In 2026, we plan to relaunch Seniors’ Day, offering health checks, haircuts, makeup sessions, and family portraits, as well as one-on-one mobile-tech support to help seniors stay connected with their loved ones.
- Volunteer Development: Launch new training programs to equip volunteers serving families with special-needs children, ensuring both excellence and sustainability in care.
Throughout the year, we connected with over 254 units, served 3,235 individuals through courses and support groups, made 679 personal visits, and collaborated with churches and organizations for 108 times.

Rooted in our vision of whole-person care, the Community Initiatives Ministry serves people of all ages and cultural backgrounds. Our mission is to build a diverse platform that integrates spiritual nurture, community engagement, and life skills development, helping individuals live out their faith in daily life. Through programs in art, music, dance, and language learning, we seek to bring comfort, connection, and encouragement to our neighbours. Classes such as Drawing with Rebecca Kwan, Sing with Love, and Guitar Fellowship have helped participants rediscover vitality, rebuild relationships, and encounter God’s presence through creativity and community.
In the area of community education, The Dialogue series offered accessible discussions on public policy and Canada’s electoral system—helping newcomers better understand their new homeland. Our Annual Safety & Secure Living Fair brought together numerous organizations to promote mental health, family care, and children’s emotional education. Through our Scout program and children’s and youth summer camps, we nurtured leadership, positive values, and teamwork in the next generation, while reaching newcomer families and non-believers alike. Courses such as First Aid and Food Safety Certification further equipped believers to serve safely and compassionately in both church and community settings. We believe that ministry is not merely about service—it is about building relationships, bearing witness to Christ’s love, and living as salt and light in the community.
Highlights of the Year
- Spiritual Care, Arts, and Interest Programs: Partnered with Joyful Christian Church and Canaan Church in Richmond as spiritual allies. Besides facility sharing, we also uphold one another in prayer and work together to advance community ministries. Our Guitar Fellowship and courses drew over 1,784 participants, with nearly 140 attending concerts. The Sing with Love choir and English classes were also well received, with several participants beginning to attend church regularly.
- Community Education: In 2024, The Dialogue hosted nine in-person and online sessions related to the B.C. provincial election, with a total of 1,183 views. The 2025 federal election video series reached over 2,200 views.
- Major Community and Family Events: The 11th Annual Safety & Secure Living Fair featured 24 booths, six speakers, and five special guests, focusing on mental and emotional wellness. The 16th Richmond Scout Group grew from 5 to 24 members, with 40 more on the waiting list. Our summer camps welcomed 293 children and youth, nurturing strong values and active community participation.
- Life Skills Training: A total of 359 participants completed First Aid and Food Safety certification courses, enhancing safety awareness in both families and churches.
Looking Ahead
- Deepening Unity and Collaboration: Strengthen partnerships with local churches and community organizations to build broader networks of shared resources in serving newcomers and vulnerable populations.
- Youth and Family Care: Expand Scouting and youth ministries and establish parent support groups to help newcomer families build healthy relationships and discover hope through faith.
- Innovative Media and Education Platforms: Relaunch CCM Vlog and develop new multimedia content addressing urban and spiritual issues, becoming a bridge across generations and cultures.

Amid the continued arrival of newcomers to Canada, Family Ministry has been dedicated to walking alongside families as they settle and grow in a new land. Our mission extends beyond offering programs or activities—we seek to build a caring community where families can be supported emotionally, spiritually, and socially.
This year, our focus centred on parenting education, family enrichment, and youth development. Through parenting seminars and educational workshops, we helped newly arrived parents understand Canada’s education and cultural environment, while equipping them with tools for effective parent–child communication. At the same time, our training programs provided a platform for parents to connect, share experiences, and offer mutual encouragement.
Our spring camp, summer camp, and youth camp together welcomed over 100 children and teens, giving them opportunities to build friendships, grow in teamwork, and develop confidence in a healthy and supportive environment.
Over the past year, Family Ministry organized around 50 activities, including parenting workshops, youth programs, and educational sessions, reaching approximately 2,336 participants. Behind these achievements stood not only the dedication of our staff but also the faithful service of many volunteers whose commitment has become a vital driving force for this ministry. Looking ahead, Family Ministry will continue to discern clear direction, focus more closely on the needs of our target families, and explore sustainable ways to accompany the younger generation and their parents in the years to come.
Highlights of the Year
- Organized around 50 programs and workshops, covering parenting education, youth camps, and family enrichment sessions.
- Served over 2,000 participants, primarily newcomer families and their children.
- Parenting seminars helped parents understand Canadian education and culture while strengthening parent–child relationships.
- Youth camps engaged more than 100 children and teens, providing platforms for skill-building, teamwork, and friendship.
- Educational workshops offered practical guidance to help newcomer families reduce stress and adjust to life in Canada.
- Volunteers played an increasingly active role in planning and leading events, becoming a key pillar of the ministry.
Looking Ahead
- Clarify Focus: Further define the ministry’s target audience and objectives, concentrating on newcomer families and youth.
- Strengthen Ongoing Support: Move beyond short-term events to build long-term models of accompaniment that nurture both parents and children in faith and life.
- Enhance Cross-Ministry Collaboration: Work closely with the Care, Community Initiatives, Counselling, and Legal Aid ministries to offer holistic resources that address the varied needs of families.

In 2021, CCM Canada established its first Legal Clinic in Toronto. In response to the growing need for accessible and affordable legal services, CCM expanded this initiative to British Columbia, officially launching the CCM Vancouver Legal Clinic in June 2025, after months of preparation beginning in December 2024. The Clinic primarily provides legal consultation and assistance in family law, small claims disputes, and minor criminal matters. We also help clients review and interpret legal documents and correspondence.
Unlike private law firms or many other legal service agencies, the mission of CCM’s Legal Clinic goes beyond resolving legal issues. Our goal is to offer holistic care — addressing not only legal needs but also the underlying emotional and relational struggles. In doing so, we often collaborate with CCM’s other ministries to provide integrated support.
From time to time, the Clinic also hosts free public legal education workshops, helping community members better understand the legal system. Past sessions have included topics such as “Mediation: Resolving Disputes Without Going to Court,” “Estate Planning 101,” and “Family Law Basics”. These workshops have been well received, drawing more than 140 participants and equipping many with practical legal knowledge.
Since its official launch in June, the Vancouver Legal Clinic has already served approximately 45 individuals, including providing summary legal advice and ongoing legal support.
Looking Ahead
CCM Vancouver Legal Clinic will continue to seek meaningful ways to serve and support the community — guided by the conviction that legal help can also be a channel for demonstrating Christ’s compassion and hope.
- Providing Legal Consultations: We will remain committed to offering practical and affordable legal assistance to individuals with limited resources and significant legal needs.
- Serving the CCM Family: We will continue to collaborate with other CCM ministries, such as joining Linkage’s peer consultation meetings, to provide integrated care for those we serve.
- Serving the Church Community: We plan to participate in church events and host interactive legal Q&A sessions to enhance public understanding of everyday legal issues.
- Serving the Wider Community: We will offer free legal education workshops to make legal knowledge more accessible to the public, especially newcomers and low-income families.
As we look to the future, we pray that God will continue to guide this new ministry, so that through our service, we may not only resolve legal problems, but also bring comfort, peace, and blessing into people’s lives.

Linkage is a team of Christian professionals—including registered clinical counsellors and social workers—dedicated to providing high-quality counseling services in English, Cantonese, and Mandarin, both online and in person. We serve individuals facing challenges such as depression, anxiety, personal growth issues, relationship difficulties, pre-marital preparation, and parent–child or marital conflicts. In addition to counseling, Linkage also partners with local churches and community organizations to host seminars and workshops promoting mental health awareness and emotional well-being—encouraging mutual support and care within the community.
Each year, Linkage handles over 100 counseling cases. In the past year alone, we recorded 170 new cases, representing a 17.2% increase from the previous year. Among these new clients, 67% sought help for emotional struggles, while 20% were navigating marital difficulties and seeking professional guidance.
In the area of community education, we hosted six seminars and workshops, reaching 233 participants and generating a total of 295 attendances. Notably, 62.9% of our clients were from Hong Kong, with more than half being temporary residents who arrived in Canada between 2020 and 2025. Many of them have been deeply affected by immigration uncertainties—feeling anxious, helpless, and stressed. In response, Linkage not only provided professional counseling but also held special seminars at local churches to help these newcomers find emotional support and spiritual strength while waiting for their permanent status.
Looking Ahead
Linkage will continue to expand its reach and deepen its impact in both the church and the wider community:
- Community Education: Continue partnering with local churches to promote mental health awareness through seminars and workshops, nurturing a culture of mutual care and emotional support.
- Professional Counselling Services: Continue offering high-quality counseling to individuals of diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds across British Columbia.
- Support for Hong Kong Residents: Establish a dedicated platform for Hong Kong residents awaiting permanent residency in Canada, providing timely and compassionate emotional support during times of uncertainty.
